Carter Control Systems uses an LPA (Label
Printer Applicator) in its applications to print and apply D&R
tags. Based upon the data received from the item’s current label,
the PC queries the data into local tables for routing information.
The LPA then prints and applies the appropriate surface or air D&R
barcode label onto the top of the item. The item is again scanned to insure
the correct label has been applied before it is moved on downstream.
In the event that the initial label is unreadable or missing, an error
tag is produced and applied to the package.
